“Jeffrey intervened in a suicide attempt by a young lady at Sutton Coldfield Stations. The lady was a vulnerable person who went missing from the care centre she attended not far from the station and her care worker came looking for her at the station. Jeff was on duty on May 18th and at around 1720 (1736 NR log) when he heard a lady shouting from the platform and went to investigate. The young lady was in distress and her care worker who was struggling to restrain her and Jeff intervened keeping her away and also talking to the young lady and urging her to get away from the platform edge and ensured that she and the carer were safe until the police arrived on the scene.
Jeff's calm disposition in dealing with the situation and his valour helped in preventing this possible suicide at the station and I would very much like to see him recognised for this.“
