Said the following about Janet Clark:

“Janet works as the community Safety Manager in London North West Route. She is focussed on education and community safety in connection with the major electrification programmes in the North West.

She works tirelessly with schools, youth groups, charities, local interest groups undertaking briefings to children ranging from 4 - 18 to help them understand railway dangers.

Janet always goes the extra mile as she believes so passionately in what she does. She spends a lot of her personal time, working unsociable hours to reach out to particular groups especially vulnerable children and those that have special educational needs. She is able to tailor her demonstration / activities and briefings to the age group she is working with hosting quizzes, competitions as well as hard hitting stories for older groups.

Janet takes particular interest when we have incidents of trespass and a recent event where an 11 year old boy was found climbing a railway structure prompted her to act with his local school and parents. This turned out to be an emotional journey for all concerned. Janet's work is definitely preventing the loss of life and a greater appreciation for the dangers associated with coming into contact with the railway. Janet is a real credit to Network Rail and I would like her to be recognised as such.“
