Nominations for Apprentice of the Year

Kevin Saron

Said the following about Jake Hill:

“Jake Hill is a second year apprentice with telent.

Soon after joining telent, Jake began to make a big impression. Having spent a year based at college, Jake is now site-based for his second year. Jake is currently involved in jointing and testing work on a variety of safety critical telecoms equipment and has just been instrumental in the delivery and commissioning of London Bridge Wifi. In the future, Jake would like to get more involved in leadership and site management, perhaps developing his career as a site manager.

Jake has been nominated for telent Thanks awards for his commitment to the commissioning of the East West and London Bridge WiFi with electricians on site saying the job wouldn’t ever have come in on time without Jake.

On site, Jake demonstrates an unusual thirst for knowledge through his inquisitive approach. A real asset to the teams he works with, Jake gets stuck in with his particularly helpful attitude. A naturally positive person, Jake gets on well with his peers and is great at raising morale.

Site managers have commented that Jake learns particularly quickly and only ever needs to be shown something once. A natural on site, he always makes himself useful and tasks quickly become second nature.

Kevin Saron, Operations Manager said, “Jake is a very pleasant character. He is constantly developing and will get actively involved in anything we ask. Jake always puts 100% effort into tasks, even the menial ones!”

It isn’t just within telent that Jake has been noticed; reviews from his college have also been exceptionally positive:

“Every few years we get someone special, telent are very lucky as you have one of those people in Jake.” Stephen Balcomb, Head of Faculty Engineering, PROCAT Engineering College.“
