Said the following about CRU Team Edinburgh Waverley:

“From day one of the pandemic, this team was formed the Covid Resource Unit the team made up of the roster clerk Niall Hickey, two of the local reps. Lauren Redpath, Shaun McCrudden and Donna Currie made up the team. Dispite the ever changing timetables, rules surrounding COVID, they rolled up their sleeves and spent many hours ensuring that their colleagues in the station team were protected throughout the pandemic years, this meant taking into account, the number of people who were required to meet our customers, dispatch our trains and assist those less able, taking into account the teams own vulnerable colleagues who were required to shield, they tirelessly worked on rosters that allowed the business to be fully covered but also colleagues to stay safe, by keeping groups of staff together to lessen potential spread of infection, to limiting the amount of staff on duty due to office restrictions, to the amount of last minute changes to both COVID advice and timetables they managed to satisfy all, with shorter hours and limited shifts. this was all in the ever changing world of COVID where one ping from the app. could mean a complete change of roster, they worked on incorporating phased returns and at the end of the pandemic welcoming colleagues back from shielding into a safe enviroment where they made sure that there was a buddy system for everyone, bearing in mind some of the team had been at home for 18 months with little outside contact. at the beginning of the pandemic we still used a roster system where rosters were posted on a board in paper on a thursday for the next 7 days, this would obviously not work in the COVID world - so they moved everything onto teams, ensuring that coaching was available for each member of the team particularly those who were less technical there colleagues embraced this so much through the CRUs dedication that now everything is on teams from rosters to annual leave so at the fingertips of all of the team 24/7 without the team being both creative and innovative and tackling the challenge that was COVID head on we would have struggled to get through the pandemic and keep all of the teams and customers safe from COVID. they really stepped out of their comfort zones and provided a robust and resiliant way of working even with last minute changes and challenges“
