“On the very first day of Land Sheriffs newly deployed team at Chelmsford station, Paul witnessed a vulnerable female on the station platform.
The female stated to Paul that she felt suicidal and intended to jump in front of a train. Paul immediately used his 'Managing Suicidal Contact' skills to comfort the female and move her in to a position of safety in the customer service office. He also informed his co-worker via radio to call the emergency services.
Paul spent 30 minutes with the female, comforting the female in conversation before handing the situation over to the paramedics and British Transport Police.
This female had previously been sectioned under the Mental Health Act 136 and was deemed a high risk.“
