Said the following about OBS Team East Croydon OBS Team:

“On the evening of 27th Jan there was a serious RTA outside the Red Star building in East Croydon, a family travelling to Billinton Hill in a people carrier took the bend at 35mph and the driver lost control of the car. It was believed that the driver had some kind of seizure at the wheel of the car. This resulted in that car being badly damaged and trapping the driver in the car. The four members of On Board Service employees- Kim, Annie, Nick and Roberto where sitting spare in the office and witnessed that accident. All jumped into action, being first on the scene, right away they attended to passengers inside.

Upon noticing that the car was leaking petrol, putting their own safety at risk, the guys removed the two children from their car seats and took them to safely away from the scene.. They were obviously shaken and had minor injuries. The driver was trapped in the car and was in poor condition. The team called the emergency services, Nick realised the danger that spilling petrol was posing and used a fire extinguisher from the office and covered the spill and smoking engine.

They all remained at the scene in their various capacities, looking after the children, liaising with police and fire and also comforting the trapped driver.

The courageous and decisive behaviour shown by the team, undoubtedly stopped a serious situation from becoming worse. The quick thinking from all involved, especially for removing the children from the vehicle.

We are so proud of the guys and everything they did on the day.“
