Said the following about Morven Johnston:

“While on duty at the station in May 2017, Morven noticed a young female acting strangely, she approached the female and coaxed her into coming away from the station platform down to the ticket office area, she involved the cctv office and arranged for emergency services to attend. Morven spent an hour with the young female, chatting to her, reassuring and being positive, giving her something to drink and encouraging her to talk. The emergency services took her to hospital for treatment. Morven learned later that the young female had been reported missing earlier that day and was suffering from mental health issues.

Morven has attended the Managing Suicidal Contact course and had put her training into practise.“

Said the following about Morven Johnston:

“Morven has shown an amazing awareness of a situation which arose at Irvine station and stepped in when she felt a vulnerable person was acting unusually on the platform. She approached the person, chatted and ultimately got help for the person. A true star!“
