Said the following about Jet Armstrong:

“During the night shift on the 19th April 2017 an incident arose at Earlswood station where a suicidal male pressed the emergency line that came through to Jet at the ROC.

Jet managed to strike up a constructive conversation with the person which manages to calm the individual; talking about experiences she has had, whilst also managing to capture vital information about the person. Jet opened up in such a way that the suicidal male felt able to talk freely and this in itself is a brave thing to do.

It's always unexpected to take a call for a suicidal person. Talking to someone over the phone presents a whole set of different challenges compared with face to face engagement. Jet arranged police assistance and ensured that the person was taken into safe hands via Network Rail response staff and local police.

Jet has dealt with a number of vulnerable people in her time at the ROC and has consistently demonstrated an ability to engage and deliver a positive outcome.“
