Said the following about James Graysmark:

“The words of a witness tell it best:

"I arrived at work this morning to find Customer Service Assistant James Graysmark (Customer Service Assistant Band A) stood on the platform surprised that he wasn’t in the BO. I asked him if he was Ok.

He explained to me that he was keeping his eye on a young girl who had threatened to either jump of the bridge OR run in front of the next train.

He had had clearly been dealing with this young girl for quite a while, he was fairly calm and told me that he thought he had talked her out of it, but he was worried she was still vulnerable and was monitoring her for any sudden movements.

He asked me to watch the platform whilst he secured the BO which I did to make sure no one past me when he came out the girl had moved outside. James followed her out to find her perched on the very high wall outside the station he was talking to her obviously calming her down.

Adam Vernon [Customer Service Assistant - dispatcher] had called the police, and Adam and I observed from a distance to make sure all was OK discussing the fact that we were probably best not going to close as to scare her into action. James continued his interaction with the young girl when she seemed to make a sudden movement; James acted very quickly grabbed hold of her and pulled her off. I am sure at this moment she was going to jump and James prevented what could have been a very nasty accident or worse. The police arrived just at this moment and took the young girl away hopefully to get the help she needs

James should be commended for his actions he remained calm and very professional. I am not sure, if he has done the Samaritans course, but, as you know I have, and he did everything that the Samaritans advise.“
