“For my nomination, I would really like to nominate Zoe Hemes who is an conductor on Southern Railway, for excellent/outstanding customer service.

Every time she is at work, she is always so friendly, polite & smiley to everyone who are honoured enough to have her as their conductor. She can easily make a whole train load of passengers smiling with her witty, brilliant announcements. Last Christmas she wrote her own Christmas songs associated with the next station which she sang over the tannoy- they proved very popular! She also makes her own ticket banners made out of spare railway tickets, using an hole puncher, which also proves very popular!

Every train she works, she is always fully committed to looking after all the passengers to the best of her ability, which are always incredibly high standards. If there is an delay encountered, even a slight one, she is always very quick on the ball to find out why the train is being delayed and communicates this on the tannoy crystal clear. She always helps every single passenger out outstandingly, from ticket enquires to assisting on and off the train.

I feel she not only a role model to conductors on Southern Railway, but a role model to every single train company in the UK. All of the above described she does every day she is at work- no matter how long her day maybe. I also feel that this amazing conductor fully fully deserves recognition, in other words an award. She is an absolute credit to the railway industry & the industry are very lucky to have her.“
