Said the following about Valentin Bejinaru:

“Valentin was carrying out a routine security patrol at a railway foot bridge near the Station when he came across a male standing on the outer side of the foot bridge directly above the tracks, Valentin quickly made his way up the foot bridge to the male’s location and engaged in conversation.

Valentin was able to gain the males trust and he climbed back over the foot bridge onto the safe walking path, Valentin then took the male away from the footbridge and offered him a seat inside his patrol vehicle to make him comfortable. The male was distressed, very emotional stating he wanted to commit suicide and gave details of the family issues he was having which led to him wanting to end his life, Valentin stayed with him for a further 45 minutes giving reassurance and comfort until BTP and Ambulance arrived give help to the male he needed.

Valentin arriving at the right time and helping the male most definitely saved his life and ensured that he returned home to his family.“
