“I have nominated Pete, as he always goes above and beyond what is required of him to ensure that the weekend projects are a success. Pete has always encouraged his team to better themselves, with deeper learning or enabling them to come up with innovative ideas.
Pete will never refuse to do something because 'it is too difficult' he will always try to find a way to ensure that the requirements are fulfilled. Most recently at Bishopsgate Tunnel, the gauging team had noticed that a shunt signal that fell just outside our renewal was foul of gauge. Pete worked with a fabrication company to come up with a design that would be suitable for railway application while also removing the risk of the shunt signal being hit by a train. This solution was well received by network rail, our client, and all that were involved were extremely pleased with this result. Due to the location of the signal, it was not accessible without a possession which made the project all that more complicated.
Pete has many years of experience and has a great technical background, he has worked his way up through the ranks to become the Signalling Manager of our Depot. This success is partly due to the way he manages his team, and the successful delivery of many complicated projects.“
