Simon often goes out of his way to help passengers and fellow workers and has dealt with very frightening situations including protecting his train, passengers and colleagues from an unstable person with a concealed weapon. He deescalated the situation effectively and ensured the safety of his passengers who were being threatened. He thinks of others before himself and is very humble about his achievements. Simon has also joined the acceleration squad as an extracurricular activity to help contribute ideas to the betterment of his company. Many of his colleagues and passengers feel he should be recognised for his love of the railway and the great effort he brings to his role within it.“
