Stephen Hellman

Said the following about Robert Mooney:

“I've only worked for freightliner for five years, but as a newcomer, he made me feel welcome. His vast knowledge of the cranes, depot and processes have been invaluable to us all. (40+ years’ service)

He has a good work ethic and is continually striving to keep the cranes up and running.

Bob has a good temperament and is always contactable even when off duty.“

Lee Pearce

Said the following about Robert Mooney:

“Bob has been amazing Crane Engineering Supervisor in my 10 years here at Freightliner. He leads from the front with a 'Do as I do' style to motivate our team. He has a very high work ethic and cares a lot about the job and company he has been with for 40 plus years. An indispensable member of our team, he has a vast knowledge about the cranes and procedures that go with it. Always there to lend an ear and give sound advice when needed, he will be sorely missed when he retires.“

Sean Dadson

Said the following about Robert Mooney:

“Bob has been my Supervisor for the whole 13 years I've been with the company, and to this day and from day one he has always been a fantastic Supervisor and colleague. Always willing to go the extra mile and his experience and knowledge of our cranes and company has been the backbone of our department. Always taking part in the job and getting his hands dirty with the rest of us and leads by example and is a true professional. When I had the opportunity to work at the same grade as him for a temporary roll he showed me the ropes and was always available if I needed any assistance or advice, even when he was off duty. The only down side is that he will be retiring in 2020 after what I believe is over 45 years’ service. This will be a huge loss to our department but if the rest of us can get to even half of Bob's level then we might just be ok!“

Kevin Staunton

Said the following about Robert Mooney:

“I've had the privilege of working with Bob for the last 6 years and he has been nothing but a gentlemen. He made me feel welcome from day one and I feel lucky to have him as a colleague and as a friend.

With over 45 years’ service, his work and knowledge of our cranes and terminal is second to none. A true professional throughout. It will be a massive loss to our department and for the company when he retires next summer. I can just count myself lucky to have had the privilege of working with him and learning from one of the best.“
