“Customer Service assistant Niculina Luga was on the concourse at London Victoria Station when a male approached her and asked for the next Faversham train. It was at this point the male grabbed Niculina by both arms and was hunched over and then proceeded to fall to the floor due to suffering a heart attack.
It takes courage to act instinctively and Niculina’s quick response in getting the Defib contributed to saving the man’s life. She remained calm throughout the incident, giving instructions to 2 members of the public on how to use the Defib and immediately calling the emergency services. The call was made at 22:58 and the London Ambulance Service arrived in record time and assisted in giving CPR to the passenger.
The male individual returned to London Victoria once making a full recovery and presented Niculina with flowers and gifts along with the thanks from his family for her efforts and quick response which saved this man’s life.“
