Said the following about Mark Merrydew:

“I'm nominating Mark because over the past four and a half years that I've worked for him, he has consistently helped to support and develop me in my role as a testing and commissioning driver. He has always been there whenever I've needed his support, however, more recently his support for me has been exemplary following an unfavourable ECHO heart scan (which I have to have annually following damage to the heart caused by intensive chemotherapy for blood cancer 10 years ago) and as a result of this test, I was placed on restricted duties pending further investigation, paid for by the company. Fortunately, the further investigations proved that the test result was incorrect and my heart met the standard for driving with no abnormalities other than a reduction in the ejection fraction which has been consistent and has never changed over the years since treatment. Whilst waiting for this test, my anxiety levels went through the roof and I thought that's it, my heart is giving up on me and I'm going to lose my job! Mark regularly kept in contact to check on my welfare, he was always positive and encouraging and he made sure purchase orders were signed off promptly to pay for the investigations.

Fortunately, I'm now back driving with no restrictions. Mark has been an amazing manager, and a real pleasure to work for. his support for not only me, but the team as a whole have been outstanding since day one, and I've no hesitation in nominating him for this award.“
