Said the following about Mark Farmer:

“I have nominated this person because, from first moment I met Mark, at the beginning of May whilst I was on training, he said to me 'don't worry you will pick everything up, you will be fine, and if you do get stuck or are unsure, there is people at the other end of the phone or email who will help'. As Mark knew I didn't come from railway back ground I came in from the outside the industry, so everything on the railway was new to me. He went through the location safety manual cover to cover with me and he said if you don't know anything or are unsure we will go over it in more detail, the station handbook, daily paper we have to fill in and stores order, all went through in detail for me, so I know what to do. Mark sorted out my Screen Assessment for me, as well as all my FIDO log in details I would need. He also went through in detail datasys, as he knew this is what I wasn't very comfortable with at the beginning (I am getting more into it now), Mark also went through how to order change for the station, when running low on certain items of stock, who I email to confirm to the order, how I fax through deliveries that come to the station, how to deal with unruly customers, what happens when there is delayed/cancelled trains, how to stop trains in an emergency, everything you can think for a train station Mark told me and if he was unsure of anything he would ask the relevant party and get back to me. He did this over a 2 week period, at the beginning I was thinking I am not going to be ready in 2 weeks to be on my own, but as the days was going on I was getting more confident, he allowed me to watch him on the STAR machine issuing tickets, and then he let me have a go with him watching, which was useful, and if I was unsure Mark would tell the customer what they needed to know. Mark is very through in his job, and nothing is to much for him, so I thank you Mark, and other colleagues who have helped me to settle in these past few months, and show me the ropes, even if I have rung thousands of times a day for help/guidance if I am unsure of anything. Thank you again“
