Said the following about Mark Cuthbertson:

“Since Mark has taken up the role as (relief) Resource Supervisor he has excelled in the role and initiated a few new processes. The initiative I believe Mark deserves recognition for is his lost property return idea. The usual procedure for lost property is that the supervisor receives it, documents it and then it goes downstairs into storage until the owner comes forward. A problem with this is that sometimes people are unaware that they have lost their property on the metro, or they have to wait until the Monday morning to get it back if they lost it from a Friday night.

Mark has a range of techniques he uses to contact the owners and often drops the goods off in his own time. The best method he used if Facebook. He looks for the person on there and sends them a message to inform them of the location of the property. He then either arranges for them to pick it up from the control centre or has a driver take it with them and arranged for the person to meet the train. If either of these methods do not work he sometimes takes it to their house.

Mark shows great initiative and we receive regular feedback from happy customers. I would like Mark to be recognised and encouraged to continue with his positive attitude because it's very easy (and common) to come to work and do the bare minimum.
