Said the following about Lily Cockerill:

“Lily started her Graduate Scheme at Unipart Rail in June 2017 after achieving a Business Management degree. Lily had little business experience and was unsure of career route. From the outset, Lily was given the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and confidence through a structured graduate training and development programme at Unipart Rail.

Lily worked across all core business units and various functional departments which provided a solid understanding of the business, propositions and processes. Each rotation is structured with clear objectives and regular reviews to keep on track and push for development.

Lily has attended a variety of training courses over the past two years and has put to use the tools and techniques learned to make real business improvements. Utilising data analysis skills developed during Six Sigma training, Lily was able to reduce takt time in our repairables process at our Service Centres by 7 days. Lily has also been afforded the opportunity to work on large scale business wide projects. One incredible opportunity Lily had was within her marketing placement where she coordinated and managed an overseas exhibition in Berlin. Working collaboratively with key customers and internal stakeholders enabled her to develop her credibility within the business and build confidence when interacting with the leadership team.

Following the conclusion of Lily's two-year rotation on the scheme, she has recently (July 2019) been promoted to Bid Manager. Lily will now pull on her two year successful graduate training scheme to use the experience and knowledge to help facilitate process improvements, write compelling bids and ensure our customers are getting the right solution.

Unipart Rail provides a vast amount of opportunities for young professionals who are looking to start their career and Lily is extremely thankful for the support she has received. Lily has an amazing outlook to her own personal development and application to work and the business looks forward to seeing how Lily takes her future career.“
