“Laura was alerted to an individual acting erratic on a platform. Laura approached the man and asked if he was ok. The man said that he wanted to die and went on to tell Laura that he had taken numerous drugs that day. Laura managed to get the man outside the front of the station away from danger and called an ambulance for help. Laura kept the man talking asking about his day and what he had been doing to keep the situation as normal as possible. An ambulance arrived and took the man to safety. Well Done Laura a fantastic intervention to help someone when they needed it the most.“
“After reading Laura's intervention report following this incident I would like to wholeheartedly endorse this nomination. It is clear that she employed the skills learnt on the MSC Course and her Customer Service experience to ensure a text book outcome to this event- by looking after the vulnerable person, calling for assistance and getting other members of the station team to assist.
As my office is at Shenfield, I see Laura in action frequently and cannot speak highly enough of her commitment to the industry, colleagues and customers. Her actions during this incident are worthy of recognition.“
