The RailStaff Awards 2024

Natalie Adams

Said the following about Keith Adams:

“I am nominating my dad, Keith Adams, for the Outstanding Customer Service Award because I strongly believe that there is no one more deserving. I am nominating him for all the times that I have had fellow peers at school, many that I don't really speak to, tell me about how my dad has brightened their day just by being his cheerful self. I have written evidence in my school leavers book; rather than tell me how amazing I am, I received comments about my dad and his endearing persona. To me this used to come as a surprise, considering the kind of people his job involves dealing with (you all know what I mean). Despite this, his job on the railway brings him much joy and delivering the most positive journey to his customers is of the upmost importance to my dad. As he likes to say: "being happy makes for a happier shift!".

I am nominating my dad for the time he was recognised on Twitter, January 2016. This person wrote: "there's a lot to complain about with #northernrail, but Keith Adams may be the finest guard on all the railway..." Despite the recognition he has already received, I do not believe that my dad knows just how much his service is appreciated and an award as big as this would show him. So I am nominating him on behalf of all my peers at school, the members of public on social media and all who have endured his bad jokes yet still speak so fondly of him.

If Keith Adams has made your journey brighter than is possible on one of the more older, slower train networks of the country (sorry, Northern, it's gotta be said) then please vote for him!“
