Mark Green

Said the following about Katie Smith:

“As the Community Champion for Carlisle, Katie has gone from strength to strength in the last 12 months. In the last year, as well as carrying out her day job, she has been instrumental in the organisation of the following events - World Mental Health Day, Christmas/Summer Community Rail Day, Charity Collections, Cumbria Thank You day for the British Legion Appeal, Student Work Exp Days, Rethink Awareness/fundraising, Rookies Days, Epilepsy Awareness Day and she has just began exploring a community garden for Carlisle too. These days have raised funds/awareness of charities and the VT Brand. She has called on her colleagues for support and influenced some amazing team achievements. Her super hard work and determination and lots of hours put in during her own time is admirable and to win this award would be the icing on the cake!“
