“I received a call from Brett in Control who advised that Kathy had just prevented a potential suicide at the station!
As the 2040 was coming into platform 6, Kathy noticed a guy standing near to the platform edge. At first she thought he may have been waiting for someone. The driver sounded the horn and Kathy ran over to the male, who then proceeded to try and step out in front of the incoming train. Kathy grabbed the man and held him back until the train could stop. The male then said that he’d wanted to commit suicide and was suffering from schizophrenia. Kathy looked after him and contacted the BTP who have apprehended the male to ensure that he gets the right support.
Kathy’s quick and very brave actions have undoubtedly prevented a suicide this evening - well done Kathy!!“
“Kathy is amazing, hardworking, kind and most importantly honest â¤ï¸Good luck Kathy“
