Said the following about IP Signalling S&SD:

“The IP Signalling Assurance team collaborated with Southern Capital Delivery to develop training for a new inspection system called Construction Safety Assurance System (CSAS) that was being rolled out throughout Infrastructure Projects to a large user community throughout the United Kingdom.

The difficulty was condensing the original complex training manual which had over 80 pages in text and to simplify the process.

The team of Chris Irvine, Peter Tobell, Paolo Baroni and Julie Ingram looked at the best way to introduce, promote and market the new system. At the same time the team provided the training needs required to use the application successfully.

To achieve an effective process change, the team looked to technological innovation and visual media.

The team developed a series of video modules that took the user on a journey which provided all of the guidance and developed an impactful visual guide that meant that a first-time user could train and learn on the job.

Additionally, the system monitors trainee engagement, providing information on usage as well as data analytics so that we could further tailor the guidance.

This is an excellent example where a team came together to simplify guidance and make it more accessible with the customer in mind. Removing complexity from the process has led to greater ‘buy in’ and uptake from the end-users.“
