“Train Driver Glenn was standing on the platform at the station with his train manager waiting for his train. The train manager noticed someone in the 4 foot, Glenn used the camera on his mobile to zoom in to try and ascertain it being a staff or a member of the public, it turned out to be a member of the public so both Glenn and Dylan put on their HV vest and ran towards the male. On their way they contacted platform staff and signaller to request stopping oncoming trains. Both Glenn and Dylan used their red lights to flag oncoming train to stop. They then both assisted the BTP who were now on site. They were met with verbal abuse and the male threatening to end his life. The male was edging towards the viaduct so both TM and Glenn managed to go around the back of him just in case he was to do anything. The BTP managed to talk the male to return to the platform to a place of safety. I do believe the quick thinking actions of both the driver Glenn Mercer and Train Manger Dylan Thomas deserves some recognition as potentially they saved helped save his life.“
