Chris Gough

Said the following about Gau Gurung and Russell Chapple:

“Gau and Russell were on a routine security patrol at a Kent Station when Station staff informed them there was an intoxicated male attempting to commit suicide and they needed assistance.

Gau and Russell quickly made there was to the platform where Southeastern staff were talking to the male, the male attempted to jump onto the tracks as a train was approaching, Gau and Russell along with the Southeastern staff managed to restrain him and take him inside the waiting area into a position of safety. Whilst in the waiting area the male was agitated and trying to get back onto the platform, the team were able to calm him down until BTP arrive and he was sectioned and taken away for further treatment.

Without the quick actions from Gau and Russell the male would have jumped onto the tracks, this showed great joint working between Land Sheriffs and Southeastern Staff to save the males life.“
