“Kevin Curtis and Nick Bolton write and deliver a Driver Development Day (DDD) to 1200 South Western Railway Drivers every six months.
They cover all the industry and local safety issues, including specific safety briefings, to drivers in a way that is engaging and fully interactive.
There have been so many emails from drivers to both Kevin and Nick sharing their experiences to pass onto other drivers, which is unprecedented. The Rail Safety and Standards Board observed a DDD day and described the day as “one of the best Driver Safety briefings in the Country.â€
Both Kevin and Nick demonstrate their dedication to safety, setting the highest standards in terms of delivery, and clearly care passionately about their fellow drivers and have made these days one’s that our drivers really look forward to attending.
Kevin and Nick have also taken on sessions with drivers with multiple incidents to look at their non-technical skills and what they can do to help them and offer specific safety sessions for trainee drivers who are just about to go productive.“
