“I have worked with Dave for several years and have always been impressed with his commitment to providing a safe environment for our passengers. I can recall 2 years ago working with Dave on the last train from Liverpool to Chester. He was walking through the train when he came upon a young girl on her own, she was very drunk so Dave not only stayed with her, speaking to her to make sure she was ok he helped her use her phone to ring her parents as he was very concerned about how she would get home from Chester station. The train was very full of rowdy people travelling home from a night out and his thoughts were not to leave the girl unattended,worried about her safety he stayed with her all the way to Chester.Upon arrival her parents were at the station to meet her but probably due to their concern didn't thank Dave for all he had done to protect her while she was vulnerable. I asked Dave did this bother him and he replied no as long as she was safe that's all that mattered. So I would like to thank Dave through this nomination and show him people do notice when you care and protect.“
