Said the following about Bradley Goodwin:

“Great Western Railway (GWR) is one of the biggest rail franchises in the UK, part of the First Group of companies, operating the Western network since 1996, rebranding ourselves as GWR in 2015. We employ over 6000 people across our network and we carry more than one and a half million customers over two million single journeys on 10,000 services every week. People are at the heart of our business and our ethos is that we are 'greater together'.

While assessing another guard on the 09:30 from Paddington to Bristol, Bradley who was in the front 5 coaches (10 coach IET with no walk through), had texted him to say he was with a vulnerable passenger who had said she wanted to jump in front of a train. He mentioned that as he was sat with the female he wouldn't be able to talk about the situation but could text. Between them they used the emergency services to train for attendance of BTP at Bath Spa where the female was alighting.

Bradley had came across this passenger at Reading and spent time with her between there and Bath Spa station, approx. one hour. He has said the female said twice that she had wanted to jump in front of a train. Bradley kept calm himself and even managed to have the female laughing and smiling with him a couple of times. The women was handed over care to the manager and ambassador at Bath Spa station where they will await the Police.

Had Bradley not spent this time with the passenger I dread to think what may have happened.“
