The RailStaff Awards 2024

Nominations for Apprentice of the Year

Samuel McDonagh

Said the following about Arabella Martin:

“Arabella joined GTR almost 1 year ago, and in this time has become a valued and integral part of our team. Always caring and showing passion within her role, she has always seen the very best in people, and takes hold of different situations when they occur, and prides herself on solving those problems, with our customers being at the heart of everything she does.

Arabella, whilst completing her apprenticeship, is also one of a team of Customer Ambassadors, and works hard to complete not only her apprenticeship, but also the role she undertakes within the team. Arabella is an asset to both our customers and colleagues, and I believe that she will shape the future of the railway for many years to come.“

Said the following about Arabella Martin:

“Arabella has been totally committed to her Apprentice since day one of the programme. She possesses outstanding enthusiasm and willingness to getting the job done, ahead of time and to an exemplary standard, while pushing for more. I would describe Arabella as having “the ability to complete anything which she sets her mind to” and delivers more than is expected of her, especially her course work on the IRO Apprenticeship. She often completes her assignments in advance of the deadlines, is keen to learn and will complete her apprenticeship early in 2020. She has already secured a permanent position just after six months at GTR and has become a valuable and well-respected member of the Customer Experience Team in Control at Three Bridges. She has the determination to succeed and I have no doubt that Arabella will have a great career in the railway.“
