“A female was seen to be walking on the tracks between two stations. Whilst driving his train, Andy opened his cab to the young female, taking her away from the trackside.
The female had recently lost a baby and was having a difficult time coping. Despite having a train full of passengers, Andy offered the female support and an opportunity to have a cab ride to the next station, ensuring he kept control informed of the situation.
Andy liaised with control who then dropped the female at the station. Colleagues met the female and train, keeping a safe distance. The team led the female to the information point, engaging in conversation until the BTP arrived.
The female was later taken to a mental health unit and sectioned under 1336 of the Mental Health act.“
