Said the following about Alexander Foster:

“Alex Foster joined Alstom as a Graduate Design Engineer in 2016 upon leaving Derby University, continuing to excel in all roles undertaken since his commencement with the company. Cumulating with his latest role as a Scheme Project Manager, where he is currently leading a complex project to deliver an AI Signalling layer for automatic route setting to the NX panel at the Three Bridges ASC Signalling Centre.

The project which is unique in its problem and solution statement, with a mixture of legacy front end control mixed with the most advanced automation layer ever developed, to ultimately deliver TMS benefits to a panel control, thus seeking to improve performance and the passenger perception.

Alex has also supported the tendering team in the preparation of multiple pre-qualification’s and tenders, providing his now valuable technical expertise and knowledge with Signalling Control Systems and TMS.

All this despite working full time in an extremely demanding role, Alex has also just completed a Masters Degree in Business Management as part of the Alstom Graduate Programme, attaining a distinction level with his academic studies.

Alex has also involved himself in multiple and regular STEM based activities to inspire the next generation, having recently assisted the development of eight students as part of a project based sustainability initiative.

Alex Foster is a perfect example of the type of dedicated and driven person that the Rail Industry needs to attract and we recognise that it is essential that employers help to manage, mentor and encourage all such employees to help them realise their full potential.“
