Said the following about Adam Peacock:

“JUSTIFICATION

Adam has developed into an extremely skilled team member throughout his apprenticeship. This has been down to attention to detail and willingness to learn. He has throughout his apprenticeship shown a true dedication and passion to all aspects of the apprenticeship program.

During his Apprenticeship Adam has never been afraid to get involved with all aspect of train maintenance, showing a true passion for engineering and learning. Adam has consistently shown a willingness to get involved with new and different tasks, always becoming a positive team member for all tasks.

An example of how Adam has marked himself out as a professional team member was his time as part of the Class 390 Team Technicians. Very quickly he established himself as an intelligent, safe and enthusiastic team member which has seen him achieve both the personal and professional respect of the Technicians he works with. Not satisfied with merely helping on tasks he has, through his own drive, taken on the task of learning the systems he is working on. This has resulted in a knowledge that is quite impressive and far superior to what is expected of an apprentice.

Another example is when Adam has, in his own time, supported engineering investigations into various aspects of wheelsets. He has taken this knowledge and supported the engineers with various wheelset inspections and data gathering. His work has been well received by the engineer responsible for Class 390 wheelsets and has been conducive in the direction taken by the engineers to support reliability.

OPENING STATEMENT

Since joining the company as an Apprentice in Aug 2016, Adam has embraced whole heartedly the apprenticeship program. Adam is in his element when he is faced with a problem as he has a natural ability for fault diagnostics which he has been developed during his time with the Class 390 technicians. Adam shows a true passion for train maintenance and all the aspects that are involved with it. He constantly looks for work and can always be relied upon to support. He consistently shows willingness to help and has demonstrated an impressive flexibility to change his plans at short notice to support.

Whilst Adam surpasses all expectations on what he should be achieving for an Apprentice he constantly takes the time to work with junior apprentices in the business. Adam through his own passion for engineering has been a key support in all depot STEM activities. He has supported both onsite visits and also taken part in offsite demonstrations. A real asset to the STEM team here at Manchester.

Not satisfied with achieving and completing his Apprenticeship Adam has been a supporting member of charitable events. His support in the charity work carried out at Llangollen Railway and Ashton Hayes Village School have been really impressive. Throughout these events Adam shows a true understanding on why as a company we do this and the benefits for all.

Adam has consistently achieved distinction in all elements of the academic side to his apprenticeship. Adam has demonstrated a great academic capability and a superb ability to demonstrate new skills both verbally and practically.

SUPPORTING STATEMENTS

Craig Young, Alstom: Adam has always impressed me from his early years to his final years. His attitude to all parts of the apprenticeship has been superb. He is someone who is always willing to learn and more importantly consolidate his learning within train maintenance activities. An honest and trustworthy team member who has been an absolute pleasure to work with, he is never afraid to get involved and be part of the team.“
