Warren Thomas

Said the following about Abdul Rehman Savant:

“Since working with Abdul he has revitalised my personal ambition within the Electrical Power Rail sector. His attitude towards tasks is extremely motivating to be around and a part of. Abdul always has a positive approach to everything and everyone, providing guidance and help towards everyone's personal development. Since joining Amey, Abdul has always had the ambition on helping and advising us junior members of the team. He has guided myself to becoming a more confident engineer and overall progressed my ability as an overall rail engineer.“

Tony Edwards

Said the following about Abdul Rehman Savant:

“Abdul is a dedicated and hardworking engineer. He is always looking for new and more efficient methods of engineering to give the client a more robust and effective solution for their requirements in the most cost effective way.

He is able to think out of the box and embrace alternative ideas and methods of engineering rather than just following the conventional methods blindly.

It is a great pleasure and honour to put his name forward for this award.“

Neville Haide

Said the following about Abdul Rehman Savant:

“As a small company we find it increasingly difficult to showcase the benefits of our technology to Network Rail's larger principle designers and contractors. The technology we have brings significant benefits to the safety, performance and environmental impact of existing and new power distribution networks within the rail sector.

As a small business we rely on capturing the attention of intuitive, proactive & innovative thinking engineers within the larger organisations and those delivering design services to Network Rail. The onerous task of connecting with engineers within these companies that can recognize the benefits of our technology within their system design and wider railway network is challenging.

ATL have had their fill of copy and paste designers as well as a worryingly large amount of principle engineers that simply fear new technology and any form of innovation. This breed of engineer stifles innovation with the continued use of legacy technology unfit for a modern railway network.

Abdul Rehman Savant is one of a handful of rare engineer’s contrary to the above statement. Abdul recognized the benefits of our new generation magnetics early and has thus promoted internally and externally within the railway network ever since. Abdul Organized collaborative meetings with Amey teams and supply chain partners and has played a key role in joining the dots for the collaboration of various suppliers on multiple projects that will now be able to utilize the benefits of our technology.

We need more forward thinking engineers like Abdul and I wish him the very best of success in this category and the recognition he deserves.“

Oliver Dix

Said the following about Abdul Rehman Savant:

“The reason why I have nominated Abdul is because of his all-round contribution to the railway industry inside and outside work. Abdul makes time to ensure that our team collaborates and works well together in order to improve the rail industry and engineering. Since I have joined Amey, I have known Abdul to organise cricket games with other rail engineering companies so that we can get to know them, bring in other companies for CPD's so that everyone can continuously learn about rail/engineering related products and arrange for the IET to come into the office so that members of the team can become professionally registered and better themselves. Furthermore, Abdul has helped me personally and professionally by always pushing me to do the best that I can on projects like TRU (Trans Pennine Route Upgrade) as well as listening to my ideas and opinions to make me feel part of the team. Abdul must be the hardest working engineer in the industry and he goes above and beyond for me, the team and the company. On top of this, Abdul has already been very successful in engineering and I believe he will have better days to come still.“
