Said the following about Will Craft:

“Will has had no prior suicide prevention training and was on his way to work when he saw something that wasn't right. He acted quickly and selflessly to assist in talking a man down from a bridge. At around 07:05 in August 2018 Will was driving across a bridge when he saw a lady standing next to the railings. He looked again and saw a man standing on the bridge looking like he was about to jump. He pulled up and immediately dialled 999. He then got out of the car and asked the lady if she knew the man’s name. The lady did but had not managed to get him to respond or turn round. Will started to talk to him stating that whatever has caused you to feel like this we can sort it out, we just need to talk and asking him to come down. The lady also carried on talking and offered him a cigarette. Between them they got the message through and he jumped down off the wall. At this point there were a couple of other bystanders including one that knew him and he also talked to him in a loud confident way. By this time the Police had arrived but at least three trains passed under the bridge while Will and the lady were engaging with him. Will's vigilance and awareness and the instinct to look and stop definitely helped resolve this situation and save the gentleman from jumping.“
