“Charitable Person of the Year - Warren Bartlett Duty Station Manager Oxford
Since March 2017, Warren has proactively raised £4450 for several different charities.
Warren assembled a bookcase in the waiting room at platform 4 Oxford Station. By engaging with GWR colleagues at the station and in other functions, a large number of books have been donated on a continuous basis by colleagues across the business. The books are displayed in the bookcase with a donation tin – no fixed amount is requested; any donations are welcomed. Warren has actively promoted the bookcase to station colleagues, and passengers have responded extremely positive to the idea and it has been very successful.
Warren asks station colleagues at Oxford to nominate charities which are close to their heart. As a result, the following donations have been made since March 2017:
Children’s Cancer & Leukaemia Movement (CALM) - £1000
Support for Sick Newborn and their Parents (S.S.N.A.P) - £450
Racehorse Sanctuary - £450
Royal National Institute for the Blind (R.N.I.B) - £450
Helen & Douglas House - £700
See Saw (Grief support for young children and young people in Oxfordshire) - £1500“
