“This is an individual nomination rather than a team. In the role of Telecoms lead designer, Tim Jones was responsible for producing a fully compliant Telecoms detailed design for a Network Rail project titled Cornwall Capacity Enabling Scheme (CCES). The CCES project is a major two-phase signalling improvement project to increase the number of block sections on the main line, thereby making the sections shorter.
In his lead design role, Tim identified NR approved IP products and proved their interoperability with Signalling provisioned products to ensure a safe working system via a Factory Acceptance Test process. In addition, following commissioned, Tim received highly positive feedback from NR maintenance staff following him providing a day-long equipment training session including an introduction to IP technology principles. As a company, Amey received positive feedback from Network Rail in terms of our overall D&B delivery performance. A key element of our successful project delivery was Tim Jones' tenacity and attention to detail to ensure a S&T system that worked (i.e. FAT proven) prior to site implementation.“
