Said the following about The GTR Engineering Operations Management Team:

“The GTR Engineering operations management team based in Hornsey are responsible for the training, competence and line management of a team of 40 shunters across the Great Northern and Thamelink route as well as the training and competence management of 36 depot drivers and 5 panel operations managers based at Hornsey train servicing depot.

This team reports to the Engineering Directorate and over the last year has not only managed to continue to drive improvements in training and competence management they have also supported the Southern route by delivering shunter and depot driver training for Selhurst, Brighton Lovers Walk, Battersea Stewarts lane and Streatham Hill, have developed 717 training for depot drivers which has been rolled out to support the introduction of this new fleet into service, assisted with the development and is in the process of rolling out across its seven stabling locations on the GN and TL of a electronic depot control system called yard master, which enables the business to monitor stock location, allocation and performance from stabling locations 24 hours a day.

The team have also improved staff engagement of the engineering operations team through regular meet the manger sessions, “time for you's” and providing improved staff training and development opportunities, developed and delivered be-spoke training to enhance and promote best practice in safety management

This team works tirelessly to support our operations staff and improve depot operations safety yet get little recognition for their work and I believe this nomination is well overdue.“
