The RailStaff Awards 2024

Said the following about Sue Gazzard:

“Sue, of Southeastern, is a RMT rep and also a union learning rep. She has tried to put Hastings and Tonbridge line on the map. I believe she thoroughly deserves this award as she hasn’t been a ULR long but the courses have gone from strength to strength. People fight for their place on learning development courses. All types, from upskilling programme for all RMT and those with in the railway sector. Courses are as varied as languages to first aid.

Sue has found time to research many courses. She would love to get many more people on functional skills courses where they benefit with accredited qualifications, and the union’s education team can gain outcomes to secure future funding. This ensures the sustainability of the education program.

She has also supported ULR’s working for other companies, a vital way to share advice and resources.

She intends to carry on and become an ambassador to all those who want to learn new skills within the railways.“
