“I am nominating Sonya for this award for her excellent work in rolling out the introduction of mobile tablet devices to all GWR drivers. This was a complicated and challenging project for Sonya and involved her learning a whole load of new skills including designing and delivering training across the business to enable managers and drivers use their mobile tablets as part of their everyday role. Sonya also had to learn skills of working with the relevant rail unions prior to introduction.
For someone that had not designed or delivered training before on a wide scale, Sonya has done a great job in delivering this project within GWR. Sonya has become the person to go to for issues around the tablets, even answering questions which should be directed to the GWR IT team in the first instance.
Without Sonya delivering this project successfully, GWR would not have been able to move forward with its visions of a paperless business and ensuring operational colleagues have everything they need to do at their fingertips via mobile tablet devices. The successful introduction of this training and project means long term the business will save money and help the environment in a big way.“
