The whole team has been dedicated to making improvements to the way we design and deliver projects from small to large, whether that is through improved design tools and processes, new products, support to projects and much more. The introduction of innovative design tool solutions which have automated design activities from surveying through to signal sighting, have significantly reduced the exposure of the workforce to the live rail environment making signalling design much safer while increasing productivity and reducing costs. Developments in power and cabling have brought about a massive reduction in costs through the replacement of copper with aluminium, and the move to Class 2 power suppliers reducing the volume of metal in the cables by a third. Plug and Play signalling cables have significantly reduced timescales to deploy modifications to the infrastructure and have been instrumental in wider efficiencies reducing commissioning timescales. And support for the introduction of a wide range of signalling products has helped projects and suppliers bring more reliable and efficient solutions to fruition.
