“Wales route structures team have been working with the Signalling Asset Management team to improve the way faults are dealt with and as part of that process we have gone to an annual visual exam on every signal and followed this up by bringing the exams in house and without Ruth's input and support this project would never have got off the ground. With Ruth's drive this project has put Wales ahead of the game in the details we know about all our signals and this project has helped the Signalling RAM prepare a programme of signal replacement across the route for sites where re-signalling in full is not an option at present.“

She is very proactive and under her project management we have gone from a single supplier to multiple suppliers, in order to address cost and programme issues. This has helped to ensure that public money is spent efficiently, and that the capability of structural assets is regularly assessed, to enable us to maintain a safe and reliable railway.
