Said the following about Network Rail IP Transition Team:

“I would like to nominate the NR IP Transition team for HR Team.

Transition started because 3 major programmes were starting close out and this would put 760 people at risk.

Tara took on the role in December 2017 and quickly changed the direction, expectations of all parties and perception of stakeholders, managers and our 760 employees who would find themselves at risk.

A structure was agreed and a team built with experts who were as passionate about this process as Tara.

The biggest change was to not expect our employees to come to us but to go to them, make the whole process as easy as possible, make everything transparent as possible and easy to find/access.

“How would I feel if I was in their shoes, what would I need, want, expect from a business I had supported and worked hard for?” questions that are always posed

A weekly bulletin was introduced so employees could see each week what roles were in and around the business, a hub was created with all the relevant information from pensions to updates to videos, health and wellbeing articles and contact details, and everyday something is added.

Listening to everyone and talking on the challenge and changing quickly because it’s what the employees not what we want!

The dedication, tenacity and passion has been undeniable and as a result 80% of the workforce has currently been retained.“
