The RailStaff Awards 2024

David Smith

Said the following about Nahum Evans:

“Nahum is a great listener, communicator, problem solver and team player. In fact, he has all the qualities one would expect from a recruiter.

However he constantly goes above and beyond to ensure that both the applicant and the client are dealt with professionally and with a great deal of respect and understanding.

Nahum is currently the lead recruiter for the HS2 Rail project out of Euston, having recently moved from Crossrail. He has to singularly deal with dozens of positions, both current and planned as the project progresses.

However rather than just being office based, Nahum is involved in a number of initiatives to help inspire those currently not in employment, including school children, ex-military and ex-offenders. He has attended a number of venues to assist these programs including prisons and schools, from which a several people have been recruited into the rail industry.

It would be amazing if Nahum could be recognised for his achievements, as he is someone that just quietly gets on and does so much for others.“

Said the following about Nahum Evans:

“Nahum contacted myself nearly 2 years ago regarding a role available within Costain. 2 years later, we now work closely and it’s an absolute pleasure.

Nahum is always there to give a helping hand and advice. He is a great listener and will go the extra mile. Whenever I do call Nahum asking for advice with new applicants and helping to prep them for upcoming interviews, Nahum will always reassure the candidates and put their mind at ease.

Despite being the lead recruiter for the HS2 Rail project with an unimaginable workload, Nahum is always there to help at the other end of the phone or email. Even taking time out of his extensive schedule to be a part of various events such as employment engagement with ex-serviceman and ex-offenders.

It would be amazing for Nahum to be recognised and awarded as nothing is ever too much for him and he just continues on without making a fuss“
