Nominations for Samaritans Lifesaver Award

Lucinda Ball

Said the following about Mekesha Priddy:

““I would like to nominate 4 members of my team who work at St Pancras International Station for their quick actions. Mekesha Priddy, Barry Town, Sue Pearce and Rino De Lira all assisted in helping an elderly passenger who had collapsed on one of our High Speed trains as it pulled into the platform with a suspected heart attack. Barry Town quickly called for LAS and had the defib ready, he asked for assistance from the Passenger Hosts who responded within seconds. Barry kept calm and was able to liaise with the emergency services whilst ensuring the rest of the station kept running. Mekesha was at hand to comfort the passenger, whilst she was drifting in and out of consciousness ensuring she was kept calm, warm and felt secure by talking to her, holding her hand and reassuring her during the incident. Sue cleared the train of the passengers and ensured that the area was kept calm and Rino was on hand to ensure no passengers boarded the train or were able to see what was happening and that the station and passengers were kept moving. It is clear that without these quick actions from the team and the clear communication that this passenger may have not left the station with the emergency crew conscious and talking. Their dedication to provide the best service and the way they pulled together as a team makes me proud to be their Leader.““
