“Martin Tweddle and John Moore and other volunteers at Workington train station have transformed the station over the past 3 years from looking run down and dreary to an excellent place to begin or end your rail journey. They have put up hanging baskets, put 3 flower beds down along with painting the station to make feel a better place to not only work but for passengers a better station in general. They have done all this work in their own time and should be recognised for all their hard work and commitment.
This is testament to their work approach and commitment to the communities that Workington station serves. We are all very proud of Martin, John and a host of volunteers that have come together to create this project - well done team Workington.“
