“On 28th August 2018 during peak time traffic 18:34 whilst working in 30oc heat, DSM Jason Oliver received a call from on board host, advising him that a customer had been taken ill on board. Jason met the train upon arrival, Jason noticed the customer having a seizure which turned into a cardiac arrest. Jason promptly called for assistance using his hand held radio & began CPR. Because of DSM Jason, quick response the passenger began to cough & became conscious again. Jason did feel exhausted because the train in which he carried out CPR also didn’t have air conditioning, this did not stop Jason from ensuring the customers welfare was put first. Fortunately by the time paramedics arrived the passenger made a full recovery & was able to walk off the train. I am proud of my colleague for going up and beyond the call of duty in order to save another person life.“
