Said the following about IP Signalling Northern LNE Construction Team:

“My team at Works Delivery Special Projects have worked exclusively on IP Signalling Northern Projects for the past 4 years. During this time we have worked on the North Lincs Project, Ferriby Project, Brigg Project, South Kirkby Project and the latest Project the Huddersfield to Bradford Re-signalling Projects. The relationship has been ourselves as Principal Contractor and IP as Principal Designer. We could not have been successful as we have been, won the awards we have or been in a position to embrace technology like we have without the support of the IP Team, specifically the construction Team lead by Ian Short.

During the past four years with their help we have developed as a Principal Contractor this has been validated by PC Licence audits and independent CDM audits. We have been encouraged and supported to push technology, leading to Remote TCODS being business as usual savings millions in efficiencies and more importantly making the site safer for staff and removing lone workers from the four foot. We have paperless safe systems and apps, which will be rolled out to the new 019 by the end of July. Remote Monitoring systems for HAV's. We have an environment of shared learning and an atmosphere which allows the team to try new things to be better.

Within NR we are often very independent in our nature and collaboration isn't always an easy reality, yet working with IP Signalling Northern that trend is definitely bucked. Thanks to them we are better every day and we deliver construction safely. For them to be acknowledged for what they do for the infrastructure and for what they have done for us is well overdue and well deserved.

For me this nomination is a massive thank you to all the IP Signalling Northern Team, especially the construction team;

Ian Short Damien Bown, John Jones, Richard Gaunt and Ben Cockburn.
