Said the following about Hasnain Mawji:

“Hasnain Mawji works in the booking office, a station operated by West Midlands Trains. In September 2018 Hasnain was on the early shift and was tipped off around 11:40 by a member of the public that a gentleman had been standing very close to the platform edge when a train had passed through. He immediately went over to the platform to approach the man. He said to him that a customer thought he was going to jump in front of a train and the man replied that he wanted to do something and would wait for the next train. Hasnain talked to the man explaining this wasn't the time or place and how bad it would be for everyone for about 20 minutes before persuading him to talk further in the ticket office. After a period of time the man thanked Hasnain for saving his life and that he felt a lot better after the chat. Hasnain acted on the information and talked with empathy to the gentleman, gaining his trust and getting him to open up and talk further, actions which undoubtedly prevented this man from attempting to take his life.“
