“Encarna came off her shift and out of her normal role to learn and then cover an essential but vacant post.
She proved herself to be a very quick learner with an excellent eye for detail and took over the role with gusto and has implemented several new systems to improve local processes.
She carries out all the Administrative tasks needed behind the scenes to ensure that others in the Bedford teams get paid correctly, have their leave applications processed and that purchase orders are raised so that they have all the necessary tools, equipment and uniform needed to carry out their daily tasks.
She is not afraid to get her hands dirty and will assist the cleaning team when they are shorthanded or just gets on and puts away stores deliveries unasked and often unassisted.
Her hard work is unnoticed and under appreciated by many but I can honestly say that she has been invaluable to me and my team and this nomination is my way of placing on record our thanks for all her hard work to date.“
“Encarna has been an integral addition to our team within our Bedford depots, we now consistently get our deliveries on time and with right quantities, Encarna will chase up any missing deliveries so we can complete our tasks to our usual high standards. Encarna also does a lot of work behind the scenes including annual leave and making sure no one is ever missing any pay. Encarna is also our wellbeing champion and arranged to run a wellbeing course where she changed her shifts to come into the depot on night shifts to help all our staff get a better understanding of our health including blood pressure weight and hydration. Encarna is always willing to assist us either during her office hours or out in her own time to ensure we always have support and the correct information especially for MFA and disciplinary procedures, without Encarna's support our workload world triple and suffer delays. Encarna will always get her hands dirty leaving the office to help with any cleaning tasks, stores deliveries in the depot off her own accord when she sees the team are short staffed or swamped with additional units. No task is ever too much for Encarna and she give 100% to any task she undertakes. Encarna is a very valuable member to our team and I don't know what we would do without her she is the heart and soul of our Bedford depot's and would like her too see how much she means to us.“
